About the Conclave:

The concept of the Triple Bottom Line in the business paradigm suggests that business goals are inseparable from the society and environment within which they operate. Corporate Sustainability is now treated as an all encompassing framework for businesses rather than a stand-alone achievable.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is launching its annual flagship event – India Sustainability Conclave – on March 6-7, 2012, in New Delhi, to focus on Corporate Sustainability and how businesses can integrate sustainability in their day-to-day operations and long term business goals.

This year’s Conclave will feature a two-day Conference on the theme, “Balancing Business Goals in a Sustainability Paradigm”, as well as a Sustainability and CleanTech Expo for companies to showcase their clean technologies, innovations and sustainability initiatives. The event will have the following special features:

  • Holistic discussion on Business Perspectives on trends, challenges, sustainability paradigms, current corporate initiatives, role of policy, elements of external interface for businesses such as supply chain imperative, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting
  • Focus on two thematic areas – Water and Waste – key to sustainable business operations
  • Master classes on Sustainability Reporting for Corporate and Sustainable Financing for Banks and Financial Institutions
  • ‘Sustainability and CleanTech Expo’ for companies to present their sustainability initiatives, clean technologies and innovative projects
  • ‘Business to Business’ interface through various networking opportunities

Objectives of the Event:

India Sustainability Conclave 2012 will be a knowledge, networking and capacity building platform which will address key issues of sustainability for businesses including:

  • Providing direction on how businesses can integrate sustainability into their overall business strategy and for its penetration to their entire value chain
  • Finding means to address the fundamental issues for Corporate with respect to sustainability
  • Capacity Building to equip companies with necessary skills
