Conference Agenda and Objective

Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) and Climate Change and Environmental Core Competency Cell (C2-E-C3), an academic cell of IIFM, proudly present ‘Enviroconclave 2010’ to be held on 9th October 2009 at IIFM campus in Bhopal.

As part of the Institute’s endeavor to provide exposure to different aspects of environment and allied domains, Enviroconclave 2010 is a step towards creating a meaningful debate and dialogue on climate change issues with an objective to understand causes and concerns and form public opinion on the same. It is an effort to realize the emerging importance of climate change issues and its overarching linkage to forests, livelihoods and human survival. An opportunity lies in every problem. The threat of an irreversible change in climate is driving organizations to adopt a cleaner and greener way of doing business. This symposium is a search for opportunities in the field of business.

The theme for the conference is “Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Businesses in the 21st Century”

The conference will have four major events:
  • Guest Lectures by eminent personalities on the main theme.
  • Panel Discussion on: “Challenges and Opportunities in Climate Finance”
  • Paper Presentation on: “Technology and Climate Change”
  • Workshop: There will be a parallel Workshop on scope, potential and way forward to carbon markets in forestry.

Call for Papers
Papers are invited from students from across the country on the broad subject area of Technology and Climate Change. Papers must match with any one of the following specific topics:
  • Clean Production Technology
  • Renewable Energy Certificates and Energy Saving Certificates
  • Energy Saving technology for Rural Development
  • Hybrid Vehicles – Indian Scenario
  • IT and Climate Change
Deadline for Submission of Abstracts (250 words): 23 September 2010
Deadline for Submission of Full Paper (1500 words): 30 September 2010

Guidelines of Submission


Some specific guidelines are:
  • You are required to submit an extended abstract of not more than 1000 words by 23rd September 2010.
  • Submit your entries in soft copy to e-mail-ids cceccc@iifm.ac.in or cceccc.iifm@gmail.com.
  • Please follow the standard format in writing the abstract, i.e., Font – Times New Roman, Font Size -12, Line Spacing – 1.5” & Page Margin – 1”.
  • The abstracts would be shortlisted by a panel of faculty from IIFM.
  • Once your paper is selected, keep in mind that the paper presentation at the conference should not exceed 15 minutes. Five minutes time will be given for discussion at the end of each presentation.
  • Certificate of Participation will be given to all the presenters.
  • No TA/DA will be provided, but lodging facilities will be provided in the campus itself on prior intimation.
  • Delegates and students who need assistance for accommodation have to register before the event date.
  • On-the-spot Registration Fee is Rs. 500/- per head.
