Corporate Social Responsibility has become much more relevant to business organizations than ever before. It is beyond doubt that the time has come for companies to take note of CSR as an evolving practice critical to ‘sustainability’. However, there are many issues and challenges facing the industry.
We invited Professor Sushil Kumar, Faculty at Centre for Food and Agribusiness Management (CFAM) at IIM Lucknow, for a dialogue on the evolving concept of CSR and Sustainability, the role of corporate in light of emerging environmental pressures, and the initiatives at IIM Lucknow to bring ‘sustainability’ issues into course curriculum.

Simply sharing profits or philanthropy is just one dimension of CSR and does not encompass multi-dimensional concept of CSR. About Prof. Sushil Kumar: Prof. Sushil Kumar is currently a Faculty with Centre for Food & Agribusiness Management (CFAM) in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He is also a member in the Human Resource Management group. Prior to joining IIM Lucknow in April 2005, he was SSHRC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Toronto (Canada) from where he completed his Doctoral studies too.
