Xerox Approach to Corporate Citizenship

The recognition, including rankings in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Newsweek Green, underscores the company’s commitments in the areas of sustainability, innovation, diversity, and ethics.

Sustainability

Xerox was named to the 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Index for its commitment to sustainable innovation. The listing identifies leaders in sustainability and gives investors a way to follow companies that embrace environmental and social values.

In its third annual ranking, Newsweek Green rated Xerox in the top 50 for environmental performance of America’s 500 largest publicly traded companies; the list expanded this year to include the 500 largest international companies. The evaluation assesses environmental footprint, management and disclosure.

Corporate Knights USA placed Xerox in the top five of its inaugural Standard & Poor’s 500 Clean Capitalism Ranking, a listing of the world’s most sustainable corporations. The ranking is based on a comprehensive set of environmental, social and governance metrics created to reveal a company’s degree of “clean capitalism”.

The Xerox CiPress™ 500 Production Inkjet System, the world’s only high-speed waterless ink-jet device, was presented the European Paper Recycling Award 2011 for its “good deinkable” rating and its ability to print vibrant color on recycled and low cost paper.

Innovation

Xerox was named to Thomson Reuters‘ listing of the World’s 100 Most Innovative Companies. The listing used four criteria to measure innovation: patent approval success rate, global reach of patent portfolio, patent influence in literature citations, and overall patent volume.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers presented its 2011 Corporate Innovation Award to Xerox for its Emulsion Aggregation toner technology. The award, one of the most prestigious given out by the institute, recognizes corporations for innovation that has resulted in the successful commercial development of useful products or led to new processes for making useful products.

Xerox was named as a constituent of the 2011-12 Ocean Tomo®300 Patent Index, published by the NYSE Euronext. The index is based on the value of a company’s intellectual property and in particular, its patent portfolio.

The Wall Street Journal recognized the Virtual Help Desk, a prototype customer-support system developed at the Xerox Research Centre Europe, with its 2011 Technology Innovation Award.

Best Place to Work

Xerox was named one of the top companies for sales professionals in Selling Power Magazine’s annual listing of the “50 Best Companies to Sell for Now”. The ranking, which appeared in the November/December issue, is based on compensation, training and career mobility.

In recognition of its commitment to inspiring employees through progressive employment practices and beneficial employee programs, Xerox Canada was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp.

The Human Rights Campaign named Xerox to its 2012 Best Places to Work Corporate Quality Index, with a 100 percent rating on their survey index.

Xerox was named to the 2011 InformationWeek 500 list, recognizing the nation’s most innovative users of business technology.
