About YETI
YETI (Young Ecologists Talk and Interact) is a first-of-its-kind conference for students and researchers working in the discipline of ecology in India. YETI is unique in being organized entirely by student volunteers from across the country. This event is meant to serve as a friendly and inspiring platform for ecologists, early in their career, to present and discuss their work, exchange ideas, and even strike up collaborations with contemporaries across the country.
The inaugural YETI Conference was held from September 24-26, 2009, at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. A total of 262 students from all over India participated in this meet. YETI 2009 hosted 33 student talks and 44 posters, which covered a gamut of research topics in ecology, animal behaviour, evolution and conservation science. In addition to the plenary talks, popular talks and workshops were also organized during the event. The plenary talks were given by Prof. Raghavendra Gadagkar (CES, IISc, Bangalore) and Dr. Charudutt Mishra (NCF, Mysore).
