Climate Change Impacts: Management & Approaches

Climate Change

Introduction

Climate Change is one of the most profound and complex issues affecting our society and economy today. Recent scientific developments suggest that the impacts of climate change may be greater than previously feared. Changes in economy and infrastructure, as well as individual attitudes, societal values, and government policies will be required to alter the current scenario of climate’s impact on human lives.

India has prepared a National Action Plan on Climate Change, which depicts need and scope of effective implementation of programmes through linkages with civil society and the government involving public-private partnerships. It is important to identify gaps in knowledge systems and help overcome them through appropriate information dissemination and technical capacity building interventions.

The programme will help to gain understanding on how the climate is changing, adverse impacts of climate change, and ways to tackle these impacts at policy level as well as at an individual level.
