Australian Geo Technology Company Launches Operations in India

Mumbai, Maharashtra – Australia’s leading provider of geo-technology based heating and cooling systems, GeoExchange Australia Pty Ltd, launched its operations in India. The Indian operation – Geo Cooling Technology India – was launched on 4th June 2010.

GeoExchange Australia Pty Ltd is the Australian based international distributor for WaterFurnace – the world’s leading supplier of ground source heat pumps – and AWEB Supply – manufacturer of the Slim Jim Lake Plate Heat Exchanger – an innovation in geo-thermal Lake Loop technology.

GeoExchange offers high efficiency geothermal heating and cooling systems for commercial, hospitality and residential sectors using solar energy stored in the earth’s surface.

Geothermal Energy for Heating & Cooling System

Geothermal energy provides the world’s greenest heating and cooling system. Outdoor temperatures fluctuate widely with the changing seasons but underground temperatures remain relatively constant. The GeoExchange systems utilize the solar energy stored within the earth for heating buildings in winter (earth as a heat source) and as heat rejection in summer (earth as a heat sink). This technology has applications across commercial, hospitality & residential sectors.

GeoExchange systems do not burn fossil fuel to generate heat; they transfer heat to and from the earth to provide a more efficient, affordable and environmentally friendly method of heating and cooling. Electric power is used only to operate the unit’s fan, compressor and pump. GeoExchange systems are three to five times more efficient than conventional systems, besides being maintenance free.

Geo Exchange in India

Geo Cooling Technology India will offer turnkey solutions from concept to implementation of the GeoExchange system for Indian organizations, which includes feasibility studies, testing, design, pay-back analysis, energy modeling on alternative schemes with guarantees on running costs, system installation and after sales support & service.

GeoExchange will provide the full range of benefits offered by the system. These include energy savings, reduced electrical peaks, water savings, reduced maintenance, longer life cycle of equipment, reduced electrical back up requirements, improved energy security, improved building aesthetics, acoustics, and increased useable space due to reduced plant room requirements. Geo Cooling Technology India will be the first organization in India to have an in house International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) certified technician for installation, maintenance & servicing.

Speaking about the launch of Geo Cooling Technology India, Yale Carden, Founder and Director, GeoExchange Australia said, “GeoExchange is very proud and excited to commence operations in India. The GeoExchange system has significant potential in India for installations across hospitals, universities, schools, government offices, commercial buildings, retail malls, residential complexes, hotels, spa’s, swimming pools, public facilities, etc providing air-conditioning, heating, hot water heating, spa and swimming pool heating requirements and offering them energy efficiency, cost savings and carbon credits. We are particularly pleased to announce our association with Geo Cooling Technology India.”

According to Peter Linford, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner – South Asia, Australian Trade Commission, “The Australian Government is working with Australia’s research community and industry to support the further development and commercial deployment of technologies that are needed in the energy sector to address climate change. Australia has made substantial progress in developing and implementing greenhouse abatement solutions that also enhance the competitiveness and reliability of the energy sector. The lessons learnt, the expertise gained and the technologies tried in Australia have direct applications & relevance in India.”

“Geothermal energy is a part of the Australian Government’s climate change agenda, and applications like GeoExchange are a reliable, clean and low-cost source of heating & cooling solutions to drive energy efficiency. Australian expertise in clean energy, clean development mechanism (CDM) and low emissions are much sought after internationally and the Australian Trade Commission would like to offer Australian expertise in clean energy, CDM and low emissions for India”, said Peter Linford.
