3. Scholarships:
There is a provision for 5 scholarships to eligible candidates.
4. Programme Objectives:
- The MA (Sustainable Development Practice) aims to develop an international cadre of development professionals, well-equipped to tackle, beyond cultural boundaries and across sectoral divisions, the inter-woven challenges of extreme poverty, disease, climate change and eco-system vulnerability, specific to the region.
- The programme has a strong cross-disciplinary cross-sectoral orientation and a practice focus.

6. Eligibility:
An undergraduate degree (Honours or equivalent) in a related field of study (environmental sciences, engineering, economics, social sciences, health sciences and law) from an internationally recognized institution, of 6 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 55% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded.
Appropriate English language proficiency.
7. Selection Criteria:
Admission to this programme will be on the basis of previous academic record and statement of purpose (as filled in the application form), a short essay (on a topic which will be given on the spot on the day of interview) and an interview. Candidates selected on the basis of statement of purpose and past academic performance will be called for a personal interview in the last week of May.
Distribution of Weightage
Application Form- 30 %
On-the-Spot-Essay- 10 %
Interview – 60 %

9. Programme Fees:
For the two year programme, the total tuition fee is Rs. 250,000/- payable in two installments of Rs. 125,000 each (first at the time of admission and second on 25th July 2011)
Admission charges are in addition to the tuition fee.
Fee payable at the time of admission (including the non-refundable admission charges and other refundable charges): Rs 139,950/-
Fee for Sponsored Candidates:
Tuition fee for sponsored candidates will be 2.5 times that for non-sponsored candidates.
Fee for Foreign Students:
Foreign students will be required to pay a fee of US $6000 per semester.
