5. Brief write-up on the Programme: This is a two-year full-time residential programme that concentrates exclusively on the Energy & Environment sector in the global context and addresses current needs of the industry. SIIB recognizes the pivotal role Energy and Environment play in substantial development.

The programme will focus on both these crucial aspects and furnish aspiring managers with the managerial, economic, legal and relevant technical competence required in these fields. These managers will play a vital role in organizations, as they would serve as the link between the technological world, business world and the environmental world. The programme is hands-on in its approach and incorporates a blend of theory and practice, which prepares the students to meet the contemporary global requirements.

6. Eligibility:

  • Bachelors Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of any statutory University in Engineering / Geology / Economics / Bio Technology / Environment Science / Architecture with minimum 50% (for SC / ST categories 45 %) aggregate marks at graduate level.
  • Non Engineering graduates, only with full time work experience of more than one year in Energy / Environment sector will also be considered eligible [Verification of copies of work experience certificates (on company letter head for the claimed period)] will be done at the time of GD/PI (if short listed).
  • Students who are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree education may also apply. Admission of such candidate will be provisional and will be cancelled in the event of non fulfillment of the stated criteria. Students are not eligible till all graduation backlogs are cleared.
  • Graduates passing Degree examination by part time / correspondence course are not eligible.

7. Selection Criteria:

Phase-I: SNAP Test – The candidate is required to appear for SNAP Test on Sunday, 19 December 2010. The SNAP Test Score will be one of the parameters for short-listing the candidates for Phase II, i.e., GD/PI.

Phase-II: GD/PI – Phase-II will be held only at PUNE conducted by Symbiosis International University.

The course is designed to impart knowledge not only in renewable energy technology and implementation but also in equally important synergetic sectors of energy infrastructure such as energy economics and energy conversion technologies. The programme will lead to a specialization in renewable energy and energy management.

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering or M.Sc. in Physics with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by TERI University, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters of the qualifying examinations), wherever marks are awarded. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) awards fellowships every year for students pursuing M.Tech. programmes, based on a written test. Candidates who get this fellowship will also be eligible.

7. Selection Criteria: Admissions will be based on the academic performance in the qualifying degree, and interview. Preference will be given to GATE/NET qualified candidates.

Brief write-up on the Programme: The MBA (Infrastructure) programme encompasses a comprehensive and well-structured two-year curriculum designed specifically to provide specialized training in the concepts and skills involved in the infrastructure service delivery, regulatory process, and competition policy, as well as helping the managers understand regulation from technical, economic, social, legal and political perspectives. The programme is open to both mid-career professionals and fresh graduates. For mid-career professionals from regulated utilities, regulatory bodies, and consultancies, the course allows them the flexibility to take up a research/thesis-based curriculum. It is mandatory for such students to undertake course work in the first year. In the second year, students will have to write a thesis and defend it at the end of the year. For graduates without work experience, course work will extend to 1½ years (3 semesters) followed by one semester of project work.

Stream I: For graduates without work experience.
